CareersGambia stores account details, employer details, job adverts, CV uploads and applications so the platform can operate.

CV files and application details should be treated as private and only shared with relevant approved employers and site administrators.

Saved CVs and employer search

CV Builder stores your generated CV against your account. When you select it for an application, a separate copy is kept with that application so later edits do not change what the employer received. Generated CVs are viewed inside CareersGambia and carry CareersGambia branding.

Employer search is optional. New accounts are not searchable by default. Before appearing in search, candidates publish a separate professional profile under a seven-digit candidate reference. Approved employers with active Premium access can search this profile. Account names, email and telephone fields, full CV addresses and uploaded CV files are not included. Candidates select a broad town or region and must review all professional text for private identifiers before publishing. Screening checks can flag common identifiers, but employment and education history may still identify someone.

You can edit or turn off your searchable profile in Search privacy. Turning it off stops new search access and new recruitment invitations, but cannot undo information an employer has already seen. It does not remove applications already submitted or existing conversations. Applications deliberately submitted to a vacancy include the details and CV you select for that application.

Recruitment messaging

Approved Premium employers may send one introductory invitation to a searchable candidate. The candidate chooses whether to accept or decline and can block or report the employer. An accepted conversation can continue if an employer's Premium expires or the candidate leaves search, unless blocked, suspended or an account is no longer approved. Account contact details are not automatically shared in messages. Any information you type in a message is visible to the other participant; only share contact details if you choose to.

Messages, reports and moderation records are stored on our server. Authorised site administrators may review conversations for reported issues, safety, support and site-rule enforcement. Reviews require a recorded purpose and are logged against the administrator's account. Notifications contain no message text and are queued for delivery to your account email address. Optional Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, we request your Google account identifier, name and email address to create or connect your candidate account. We store the Google identifier with your CareersGambia account so you can sign in again. This feature does not request access to your Gmail messages or Google Drive files, and does not send your CV to Google.

Google handles authentication under its own privacy policy. CareersGambia admin approval still applies to new registrations. For questions about your account or its Google connection, contact us.
